MedTech leadership and market development

Before founding Pharma Devices, Chris held senior roles with major medical technology multinationals including Gyrus ACMI and Olympus Corporation. His work has spanned sales leadership, international market development, launch strategy, clinical engagement, and the commercial introduction of medical technologies.

Across his career, Chris has worked at the point where clinical value, market access, and commercial execution meet. His international perspective comes from introducing and scaling medical technologies across Australia, Asia Pacific, New Zealand, and the United States—markets with very different regulatory systems, purchasing pathways, and clinical adoption dynamics.

Chris works with early-stage innovators and established medical device companies on the practical challenges that determine whether a product succeeds after development: market entry, reimbursement, regulatory and market access, KOL engagement, sales planning, and manufacturer and distributor networks.

From launch strategy to scale-up

Chris advises founders, researchers, leadership teams, and commercial organisations from early market planning through launch and scale-up. His work connects the decisions that are too often treated separately: regulatory timing, reimbursement, clinical evidence, key opinion leader development, channel design, distribution, and sales coverage.

For companies entering the United States, his focus includes the realities of hospital market adoption: how clinicians, professional societies, value analysis committees, distributors, contract sales teams, and post-market requirements shape a viable commercial model.

Founder of Pharma Devices

Chris established Pharma Devices after seeing strong products repeatedly lose momentum at the commercialisation stage. The consultancy brings the right specialists together around each product, market, and timeline, with bespoke support for companies launching or expanding in the United States and Asia Pacific.

His approach is practical and outcome-led. Rather than applying a standard playbook, Chris works backwards from the product, clinical setting, target market, and commercial objective to build a pathway that the company can execute.

Education and perspective

Chris holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy from Rhodes University and an MBA from Henley Business School. That combination of healthcare training and business leadership informs his ability to translate between clinical, technical, and commercial stakeholders.
